What Kind of Class???

July 15, 2010 // Posted in Uncategorized  |  No Comments

Yes, yes….it’s time for another long awaited, yet unscheduled rambling.  This particular topic has nothing to do with politics, or even the lovely and shapely form of a woman.  I know, I know….this is really out of character for me, but hey…don’t you think I’m already predicable enough?

So where to start?  I have no idea.  I’m sitting here in my Public Speech class a full hour before class even begins.  I forgot that this was school picnic day, so things aren’t going to start till later.  Oh well.  So the key statement here is that I’m taking a Public Speech class.  Those that know me would ask why I would even enroll in such a thing.  Those that don’t know me would ask why I would enroll in such a thing.  I mean lets face it….I have no grand illusions to become some great orator, but then again….I have spoke in front of hundreds of people before.  WOW!  I could be a walking contradiction.

So why would I be in a Public Speech class?  (Great question, your Majesty!)  Well, let me see if I can give you a logical answer.

Yeah, I’m in school for my degree in Computer Science.  Computer classes, programming classes, gen ed..  Okay…makes sense for the degree.  But where does Public Speech fit in?  In my most humblest opinion, I’d have to say….NOWHERE!!!!  In my career, have I ever given speeches…no.  But I have conducted trainings as well as acted in theater (high school) and in Renaissance Festivals.  So standing up and talking in front of people is no big thing for me.  The key is actually know the material that you’re talking about, and everything will generally go smoothly.  So why a class?

Well, some self-proclaimed brain child idiot, decided that for a degree in IT, you need to know how to speak in public.  Really?  Obviously, whomever this handicapped Einstein is/was, does not know the nature of the computer geek!  Or they do, but they wanted to try and break the geek out of their shell.  If that’s the case, then they are no good fucking interlopers trying to bend people to their will.  (see, if this were a political posting, I’d be calling them liberals…but it’s not, so I digress).

So here I am waiting for class to start.  I didn’t even bother to purchase the books for this class because I was told that the teacher that gives this class doesn’t even use them.  So what happens?  I get a new teacher, and of course…she assigns the book reading.  Fuck that.  I have more important things to do.  To think, I could be at a poker game tonight, but NOOOO.  Public Fucking Speech!!!  I mean what the hell!

Okay, so long ago, speaking in public was voted as one of the most stressful things to do, or jobs to have….whatever.  I mean I can see where some might have problems doing it, but just think about it for a minute.  What’s the purpose of speaking in front of people?   To disseminate information.  If you can tell one person something in a knowledge transfer fashion, you can do it to hundreds as well.  I mean whats the difference?  Like I said earlier, the key is to ensure that you know the subject matter that you are talking about.  Shit people!  Common Sense!

Heh…public speech….I guess I’ll just sit in class again and think about breasts or something.  I mean why not?  I’m paying a grand to do it…might as well think about what I want.

Live life well!  Be kind to one another!  Drink for pleasure and compliment beauty when you see it!

The Obama Embarrassment

June 24, 2010 // Posted in Politics  |  6 Comments

SEE!!!  I TOLD YOU SO!!!!  LMAO!!!

This guy turns out to be the biggest boob since that daft character Maxwell Smart hit the scene!  But WORSE!!!  At least Maxwell Smart got the job done in the end.  Hell, watching his dumb ass speeches make me want to laugh and cry.  Every time this idiot opens his mouth, I swear every sentence is prefaced with the phrase “Would you believe…”, which makes me laugh.  Then after he’s done, I cry because I can actually feel my money exit my wallet and high-tail it off to some government slush fund!

LETTER TO OBAMA:

Yo dude!  Kudo’s for making it to the White House and becoming the most powerful and influential person in the world.  Even the people that actually HAVE experience in running governments and/or businesses, the Presidency is a tough job to get.  But you got there with absolutely NO EXPERIENCE!!!  That’s huge man!  But look…no one cares that you’re black, so lose the racist B.S.  It really dulls the few shining moments that you have…oh, okay…had.

Look man…you’re a mess.  I never did care for your politics, and now that you’re there…I really hate everything that you stand for.  Here’s just a couple of reasons why:

  • 2008:  You say Israel is our greatest ally in the middle-east, and you support them fully
  • 2010:  You bent Israel over and screwed them when they are just trying to defend themselves, all the while, siding with their enemies on just about every issue.
  • 2008:  You say the Bush Administration spent way too much money
  • 2010:  You’ve quadrupled what Bush spent, and borrowed more than God himself could ever repay
  • 2008:  You say you’re going to give the people what they want…nationalized health care that won’t cost the tax payers anymore money than what they are already paying
  • 2010:  You passed a health care package that an overwhelming number of the national population didn’t want, at a cost that far exceeds what you promised.
  • 2008:  You criticized the Bush administration on how they handled the Hurricane Katrina situation and promised to do better.
  • 2010:  Your big oil buddies had the worst ever oil spill accident in history, and you don’t show up on the scene for weeks.  But hey…at least you got your golf games in.

I can go on and on here, because the truth is…EVERY promise that you made during the campaign, you have broken since you’ve been in office.  Your declared party controls the House and Senate, yet you couldn’t get any decent legislation through.  Everything rushed to the point of not even being fully written, and your people passed the shit-laddened bills.

You see….this is why experience matters.  This is why personal character matters.  Two things that the American people really try to look for in a competent person to steer the glorious ship of freedom called America.  You failed sir.  But to your credit…hows the saying go, “If you know you’re going to fail, fail big”…no one has ever failed this badly.  Not even Jimmy Carter.

President Obama, you have failed the American people at every turn.  It’s time to pull a Nixon, and resign from office.  You’re just a complete idiot.  Save yourself man.  It’s better for everyone if you go down on your own, and leave our ship “America (powered by Liberty and Capitalism)” to sail back off to greatness.

Illegal Immigration

April 29, 2010 // Posted in Uncategorized  |  2 Comments

King Hendo here…

You know, I find it funny as hell that people get upset when a law is passed that says you have to enforce the existing laws.  Since when do we need a new law just to tell people that they have to enforce laws that are already in place?  Isn’t that like putting a band-aid on top of another band-aid?  AND THIS IS STATE GOVERNMENT!

Illegal immigration is so vast that it really is impossible to lay a correct number to it in order to see the extent of the problem.  I heard the number today and I already forgot what it was, but it was big.

Now, I’m only half Mexican, and I really can’t relate to the plight of Mexicans that are trying to get to the good ol’ USA.  But I can understand why they are doing it.  That’s neither here nor there, though.

I know I’ve touched on this before, but due to the current political climate, it’s worth hitting it again here.  Illegal immigration is “ILLEGAL”…hence AGAINST THE LAW!  If people are entering the country illegally, then A) they have no Constitutional rights, B) are a burden to the economical climate of today’s society, and C) are therefore…fugitives of justice!  The fact that (reportedly) 95% of the illegal immigrants are Mexican, gives law enforcement the right to profile Mexicans!  Not because of their race or ethnicity, but because we KNOW that it is predominantly Mexican nationals that are crossing the Arizona boarder!  Is this not common sense???

70% of Arizona citizens are for the new law.  60% of the Mexican citizens in Arizona are for the new law.  Doesn’t that speak for itself?

People that cry racism at every turn amaze and infuriate me.  I think they do it to get themselves noticed for whatever reason.  Most times the racism card is being played, it’s only to stir tensions throughout the American people, and mostly against the conservative leadership.  At least from what I’ve seen…there has never been any merit to the claims!

Al Sharpton…Just shut the hell up.

I’m for the apprehension of ALL illegal immigrants.  Though for the most part, I  understand why they are doing it, but that doesn’t make it right….or legal.  Be it Mexicans, Chinese, Korean, Middle-easterners, Cubans…whomever!  They need to boxed up and shipped back to their country of origin.  To pay for this, we subtract that cost from the aid that we currently give those counties.

Liberals have just gotten too silly on this!  If we are to be a nation of laws (one of the things that has made this country the greatest country in the world), then we must enforce the laws.  It’s for the safety of the American people, and the nation as a whole.

Liberals…if you’re going to play the racism card, you better have legitimate grounds for playing it.  When you don’t…you just weaken your cause and you look like a complete ass.  Guess that explains your mascot!

For love of the U.S. Constitution!

End Political Corruption!

April 26, 2010 // Posted in Politics  |  1 Comment

Time for my monthly rant.  But this time, I have a serious solution to some of our political problems, as well as a legitimate way to save our country some money.

As crappy as our current government is, I know a change is coming.  More than half of the American public is sickened by the way the Obama administration has squandered away what was left of the wealth of the country.  Be that as it may, the rest of this posting will be non-partisan, as a solution to some of our problems is outlined here.

We need congressmen to sign off on this contract, and ensure that it gets fullfilled.  I don’t see it happening, but if the American public gets wind of this, and pressures their congressmen on it, it can happen.  Here’s the deal…

Both houses of congress have it WAY TOO EASY!  Once they are in, they get paid for life.  This is a travesty laid at the expense of the American people.  I propose that a new law is written with the following outline:

  1. Congress shall not get a raise more than once every ten years, and each raise shall not exceed 3%
  2. Once out of office, members of both houses of congress shall not be able to draw political retirement salaries for more than 3 years.  If the member finds employment during those 3 years, the retirement salary ends.  The Executive and Judicial branches shall be able to draw retirement for no more than 5 years after their term, but forfeit their retirement upon new employment.
  3. Full medical benefits are afforded to congressmen during their term in office.  After their terms have expired, they will qualify for VA benefits only.  The same benefit is mandatory for the Executive and Judicial branches.

These three changes would save Millions of American citizens dollars monthly, and help curb the corruption in our political system.

Pass the word, and tell me what you think.

Spring Vacation

March 29, 2010 // Posted in Uncategorized  |  2 Comments

What comes to mind when you hear the phrase “Spring Vacation”?  Most people always think of the beaches of Florida, California, Mexico, or maybe some of the beautiful lakes of Arizona, or Nevada.  There are thousands of beautiful spots that can be named.  You also think of women in skimpy bikini’s, beer flowing as freely as water, and hi-jinx of all kinds being captured on video.  I’ve never had this type of spring break.  In fact, I’ve never had a spring break at all.

Well, last week was spring break from my school, and I took advantage of it!  Yep…I went to the beach!  Sadly though…there were no skimpy bikini’s to be found.  Sure there was beer, but not one wet t-shirt contest!  WHAT?  Hell has certainly frozen over, or I have missed something in the spring break travel guide for middle aged men, for I traveled to the lovely state of Maine!  No, I’m not being facetious.  Maine!  What a deceptive environment.  We flew into Maine on a Wednesday evening, and it was a bit chilled…somewhere in the mid fourties.  Thursday started off nice in the 60′s, but soon gave way to 40′s once again.  Friday was in the 30′s, and we came home on Saturday.

A.)  I thought for sure that Maine-ers would have seen that as perfect beach weather and there would be bikini’s abound…but NOOOOO!  No bikini or wet t-shirt contest to be found.

2.)  Well, the state is famous for its sea-side shops and entertainment, but come to find out…the state pretty much shuts down from October to late April BECAUSE IT TOO FREAKIN COLD!!!

3(iii.).)  The beautiful forestry of the state was still sleeping!  So no green trees outside of some scattered cedars.  No Bears were seen.  No Moose, porcupines, fox or beavers [;-)] either!

…sigh…

So here’s what did happen.  Thursday…the warmest day that we were there, we went searching for some lighthouses.  My wife’s step-father and his wife broke out the maps and selected a travel plan for us to see a few of the famous landmarks.  These are great people, but it’s obvious that directions are not their forte.  Even with a pilots GPS unit, we got lost.

We started at Maine’s lowest point (I think) and got a little lost on the way.  By the time we found the beach, we still had to get directions to go the extra 3 miles to find the local lighthouse.  We found it!  It wasn’t the tall, imposing building that I thought it would be, but it was kind of cool.  We couldn’t go in it, as it was on a separate island.  Not a hundred yards away, but access was restricted to boats or cable cart that traveled across the waterway via cable…about 50 feet in the air.  Clearly, this was a private lighthouse.  So we snapped a couple of pictures, and went off to find the next one.

Traveling north, we went through some of the small towns that populate the coastline.  There are some fantastic homes there with some spectacular views of the ocean.  I lived in California for a long time, so an ocean view I can really appreciate.  I also love older styled architecture.  I think Victorian homes are gorgeous, and there really was no shortage of them here.

We stopped off at Kennebunk (the port of) and got a distant view of the Bush compound.  Eh.  We’ve passed better looking dwellings, in my opinion.  But the little shops and stuff at these port towns looked amazing.  I can only imagine what they would be like when they were actually open for the season.

So, the sun was starting to go down, and we had dinner reservations at this Brazilian restaurant, so we gave up our quest for lighthouses and headed up to Portland for dinner.  Portland looked like a great place to go looking around, but by the time we got there, it was dark and the weather had dampened up.  We found parking a block away from the restaurant and went in for drinks before dinner.  I ordered an Absolute/Grapefruit with a splash of cranberry juice, and found out that drink is called a Sea-breeze.  Who knew?  Here I thought I was going for a little something different.

Dinner was great!  If you haven’t been to a Brazilian restaurant, you are missing out.  Caution to our vegetarian friends though.  This place is designed for the carnivore, and I couldn’t have been happier!  I mean, these guys bring out skewers of various kinds of meat that they grill.  When they come to your table, they slice off of piece for you (as much as you like, really), and then they come back with something different! Ribs; Rib-eye, Tenderloin, chicken, pork…HEAVEN!!!!  We gotta get one of these in Lexington!

So on Friday, we weren’t sure what we would do.  Cold weather…nothing open of the touristy nature.  Hey…lets go to L.L.Bean and go shopping!  Now, I’m not a big shopper, but a short drive up to Freeport (I think that’s where it was), and I was in a L.L.Bean catalog!  I really like their stuff, so I was in heaven just tooling around and looking at the different stuff that I’ve only seen in catalogues.  I must go back whenever I have a shitload of expendable cash!

After shopping, we went someplace else and had a beer and some food, and shot a little pool  I suck at pool.  My cousin Paul would have a field day on me if he seen how badly I played.  Oh well.  It was still a pretty good time

Saturday was basically working on some computer stuff for my step-father in-law, and then traveling back to Kentucky.  Yes, I got back in time to hear the last 5 minutes of the Kentucky/West Virginia game on the radio.  Yeah…Kentucky lost.  Typically, I just don’t follow college sports, but for some reason we were listening, and we were upset at the loss.

So here’s the thing…my one and only spring break outing was met with no bikini’s, no hi-jinx, and no drunken stupor.  This tells me that I did it wrong, and God help the person who sold me the spring break fun in Maine tourist book, because their ass is mine!

Whaddayaknow?

February 19, 2010 // Posted in Off The Wall, Politics  |  1 Comment

Yeah, I guess its time for my bi-monthly ramble.  Again, I don’t have a particular topic to rant about at the moment, so this one is going to be another hodge-podge of crap.  Just the way you like it.

So here I am on a Boobs & Beer Friday, sitting home with a cold.  This blows.  Stuffy-running nose and the undying desire to crawl downstairs and go back to bed.  Oh well, everyone has these kinds of days.  Been falling in and out of sleep all day long…taking a home grown cocktail of OTC cold remedies that I’ve found in the medicine cabinet.  Most expired, but who cares.  It may be out of date, but it has to have some affect on the cold, right?   Anyone?  [/queue crickets]   In any case, I feel fine enough to play in the game tonight.  Just have to make sure I take my box of tissue.  How disgusting would that be if I forgot my tissue.  LOL  Oh, btw….Minute Maid orange juice simply ROCKS!!!!

My daughter is in San Diego this weekend with her friends.  How cool is that.  I think she said that they were on spring break.  When did spring get here?  I still have snow in my damn yard.  So yeah…my daughter and the generally warmer weather and a few friends, is all I really miss about California.  So, San Diego…I spent a week there on business about 20 years ago.  I was mostly out in the industrial area though, so I can’t say that I seen all of it’s beauty.  But hey…it’s still just California.  I wouldn’t mind going back to visit though.

School is going okay.  I’m not sure I’ll make the Dean’s List this quarter, but the possibility is still there.  I still hate English class, and Math (which used to be one of my best subjects) is kind of sucking.  One question….Quadratic Equations….WHY?  Is there really a use for this crap outside of a science lab or something?  I’ve been in the computer business for over 16 years.  None of this has ever come into play.  Even in my programming class, we don’t use it.  So what gives?  I’m sure there is a purpose for it, but if it doesn’t pertain to my career of choice, or even prepare me for some of my degree classes, then why do I have to know this?  You know, I think I asked this same question back in the early `80′s when I was going through High School.  Almost 30 years now, and I still haven’t gotten an answer that justifies taking that class.  It didn’t matter back then, but since I’m actually paying for the schooling now, it matters a great deal.  Not that anyone in the elite liberal academic circles cares what I think.  They should though…because now I’m confrontational, and they don’t like that at all.  Fuck em.  Yeah, yeah…I know I still have to take the classes, but they are not going to get off easy on this.  LOL

Boy, Obama has gone to shit, hasn’t he?  LMAO!!!  That idiot!  Sure, most campaign promises are broken, but this asshole didn’t even try!  No health care debates on CSPAN.  Wants a bipartisan health care package, but allows Palosi/Reid to block republicans from contributing.  Was for gay marriage, and as soon as he’s in office, he’s against them.  “No Earmark spending” the man said.  I guess that means nothing above 50,000 earmarks, because over 8.500 in one bill is just fine with him.  Says he’s going to fix the economy, then accelerates the tanking of it!  The only thing presidential about this guy is that he’s his own number one fan!  He promotes himself, and not the country.  This guy is 100% LOSER!!!

Hey, three cheers for the Porn industry!  In a crappy economy, it makes money.  In a good healthy economy, it makes money.  There is a lesson in here somewhere.  The worlds oldest profession will never go away, and I think that’s a good thing.  I think if we can find a good solid way to keep it away from kids, then I can see it becoming more mainstream.  I wouldn’t support it if we couldn’t protect the kids from it though.

I was thinking about running for office.  City council maybe.  I’d run on the platform that since our elected representatives are supposed to speak for the people…I’d give the people a voice.  A simple web site and a few interactive webinars, and an elected rep. could have his constituents be a big part of how government runs.  Think about it for a minute.  If you had direct access to your representative, wouldn’t you take advantage of that?  Wouldn’t it be easier to make sure that your representative is actually working for YOU, instead of working his/her own agenda?  That would be HUGE!  Remember…our government officials are elected to represent OUR interests…not theirs.  So why don’t they hold regular meetings with their constituents?  They mostly talk with the people that fund their campaigns, and that’s wrong.  They are supposed to listen to the people that they represent…not just the money people.  This is why I would like to see all campaigns have a fixed dollar amount…say $1,000,000.  They get 5 60 second TV spots total, and everything that they put on their web page MUST be 100% factual, validated by an independent panel.  This would hamstring big money lobbyists and put all candidates on an even playing field.  Think about if for a minute.  Even if you are not into the political scene, you have to see the beauty in this.  I should do it.

Well, It’s time to get ready for poker night.  Tissue….check.  Throat drops….check.  I think I’m ready.

HAPPY BOOBS & BEER FRIDAY!!!

A New Year Approaches

December 30, 2009 // Posted in Politics  |  10 Comments

Damn it!  Normally, I’m always looking forward to the new year, but not this one.  And it all has to do with Politics.

Pre 9/11, I wasn’t really concerned much with what party had majority control, as there was generally a degree of civility in the political discussions of the day.  Sure, I was a Republican then, and of course I wanted my party in control, but even if they weren’t, it wasn’t all that bad.  Well, okay.  It was awful if Liberal ideology ruled.  That stuff is just plain crazy.

Now in the post 9/11 world, our politicians have thrown civility to the wind and have digressed to playground bully tactics.  Of course, I’m referring to the Democrat party.  The Republican party was taking the beatings like a crash test dummy, but then woke up some.  Obviously, their heads are still ringing, but at least they are starting to put the gloves up.  They even have a bit of solidarity going on, which really is a breath of fresh air.  But lets get back to the main point here.

2009 was a miserable year of law making.  Lets face it, the Palosi/Reid machine isn’t focused on doing the will of the people, they are only focused on socializing this last bastion of a free society, and lining their pockets with money while increasing their power over the American people.  Remember the old adage, “power corrupts; absolute power corrupts absolutely”.  Politics IS power, and with a Liberal majority in both the House and Senate, the power is absolutely corrupt.

Lets look at some of the laws passed this last year (2009):

Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act of 2009 (Public Law 111-2):  This law amends the Civil Rights Act of 1964, along with a couple other laws, which basically just clarified a time frame in which to act on pay discrimination.  This isn’t a major law, but it is important.  It’s also a rarity in that it actually fulfilled a promise that Obama had made on the campaign trail.  HOWEVER:  This also renigs on an Obama promise in that there was no 5 day wait before signing the bill into law.

The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (Public Law 111-5 ):  Commonly known as the Stimulus Bill, this law gave congress nearly $800 billion to spend on crap to help boost the failing economy by loosening up the credit markets and creating jobs by funding “shovel ready” construction jobs.  Now, in theory, all of this sounds good.  In reality, this is a freakin’ nightmare!  First off, government does not create jobs.  The private sector does.  Second…in almost a year after passing this crap, less than a quarter of the allocated funds was spent!  So naturally, NOTHING HAPPENED!!!  In a rare sign of unity, not one Republican in the House voted for this bill, though 3 Republican Senators did.  Nearly $800 Billion worth of crap, yet we have American soldiers in harms way that are struggling for resources.  Nice job Democrats.

The Matthew Shepard/James Byrd Jr. Hate Crimes Act:  Now, this bill has been floating around since 2001, and the only way the Democrats were able to get this thing passed was to attach it to a defense bill.  Now I’m not saying this is a bad bill, but if it’s been floating around for 8 years, and then you finally have to sneak it in a defense spending bill to get passed into law, then maybe…just maybe…this is actually a piece of shit bill.  For those that don’t know, this bill adds protection to the 1969 Hate Crimes act to cover gender, sexual orientation and disabilities.  Basically protecting gay, lesbian and transgender individuals from hate crimes.

Cash for Clunkers:  Initially a billion dollars was set aside to coax people with older, high fuel-consuming cars to dump those for something more fuel efficient.  This was so popular that the billion dollars was consumed in a months time, forcing Congress to dump another $2 billion into the program.  Even then, this law devoured those funds so quick that they had to end the program a full 3 months ahead of schedule.  Here’s where some of the problems come in.  Yes, this was a boon to the failing auto industry, but there was a stipulation in the law that the clunkers turned in, had to be scrapped.  Again, that makes some sense, but they missed out on a real opportunity.  These cars could have been parted out in order to help sustain the cars that didn’t get turned in.  This would have again, boosted the economy some by provided refurbished parts to a user base that couldn’t afford to get the new cars.  Combine that with the fact that in a months time, they had to put more money into the program to sustain it, shows a real lack of planning on the side of the Government.  I’m split as to whether or not this was a good thing, but obviously, it wasn’t handled very well.

Helping Families Save their Home Act (Public Law 111-22 ) :  Now the concept of this bill was to let judges modify mortgages so that families would be able to have a chance to stay in their homes…those that bought houses that they couldn’t afford in the first place.  However, in the final bill, that provision wasn’t even included in the bill.  What passed were mortgage rule changes and law modifications that would help people hang on to their homes.  Now, helping people stay in there homes is a noble endeavor, but the problem is, these people bought homes that they could barely afford in the first place, so when things went south, they should have lost their homes.  That’s what happens in the real world.  If you can’t afford it, you don’t get it.  That’s the basic rule of managing your own money.  Now the American people have to subsidize mortgages for people that have no common sense.  Again…noble…sure.  But very wrong.

The Omnibus Bill:  Over 8500 earmarks of pork barrel spending.  Obama ran a campaign of NO Earmark spending.  In a time of economic crisis, this is not only irresponsible, but its asinine!  Another Obama promise that was renigged on.  Another shitload of taxpayer money pissed away on power grabs.  This is the legacy of the Obama administration.

Obama, Reid, Palosi, Dodd, Nelson, Durbin,  Waxman…the list goes on and on.  These people, in my humble opinion, can and should be tried for crimes against the U.S. Constitution.  At the very least, removed from office for dereliction of duty and fraud.  This is why I’m not looking forward to the upcoming year.  These people are going to continue pushing socialist agendas in order to increase the power of government over the people…something that the U.S. Constitution is supposed to protects us from.  You see, the Constitution limits government oppression in order for us Americans to live freely, and Obama, Reid and Palosi can’t stand that.  Hell, Obama himself stated that “the Constitution limits what the government can do” (paraphrasing) and he sees that as a problem.

There is no guarantee that 2010 is going to be any better.  Especially when the Health Care bill gets passed.  That is going to screw the American public so bad that recovery may not be able to happen.  Our only hope is take back the Senate and the House.  Even then…it may be too late.

It’s time to fight!  It’s time to put our congressmen on notice.  We need fiscal conservatism, and more responsible government.  We need less government control on our individual freedoms.  We need personal responsibility instead of a nanny state.  We need to get back to American exceptional-ism.  Obama is not the answer.  He’s a cancer on the American way of life.  Obama and his cronies have to go.

Stand up America!  It’s time to fight for your rights to be Americans!

Merry Christmas!!!

December 7, 2009 // Posted in Politics, Uncategorized  |  6 Comments

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO EVERYONE!!!!

(this one may go in different directions, so try to keep up)

Okay, look.  I’m not a religious person.  In fact…I’m an Atheist.  More to the point, I just don’t believe in organized religion.  Lets face it, throughout human history, religion has been a controversial part of our society.  Think of all the wars and senseless murders that have been done in the name of religion.  Atrocities of all manner have been committed under the guise of religion.  Isn’t that antithetical to the true meaning of religion, and it’s influence?

Look at all the different religions available to us (we humans love variety):  Catholic; Baptist; Jewish; Protestant; Episcopal; Muslim; Buddhism; Mormonism; Hinduism; The Snake lovers; Men in Black; Satanism; Socialism; the list goes on and on!  Now, how is this possible if there is supposed to be one true God?  I know what you’re thinking….”But Hendo…don’t you have a theory on all of this?”  The answer is a resounding…”I do, my loyal subjects!”  And here it is…

Initially, I think religion started off as a pretty good thing.  But man being the creature that he is, the perversion quickly set in.  Somewhere along the line, some dude in a dress said “hey…religion is pretty cool, but I really would like [insert human desire here].”  Several people agreed, but most didn’t.  This splintered the religious belief, so a new religion was formed to accommodate this new exception.  Time goes on, and it happens again.  Next thing you know, a few millenniums later, you have several different spin offs of the original religion.  Some split from the splinters!  Today, there are so many different religions, that I can’t even count them all.  Wait…here’s my calculator.  College math should come in handy here.  Let’s see, one divided by this, times that with an exponent of….ERROR!  WHAT?!  Even my trusty Technology God gave up on trying to figure that shit out.  Sheesh!

So, where do we stand?  Well, if we get down to the basic religious values of any flavor, you get …be nice to people; help each other out; and a set of other acceptable moral values that in fact, sound pretty good.  Now I may not believe in religion, but I do believe in common sense and that being good to people is always a good thing.  I’m also not about to sit here and chastise anyone that feels that going to church on a regular basis is helpful to them.  I mean…if you feel that this kind of communal gathering is helpful to you, then by all means do it.  How can it be wrong?  No one can tell you what feels good to you, so if it’s something that you think helps you…enjoy!  It’s a social gathering of like-minded people, all with faults and concerns.  Having someone to talk with, is always a good thing.  Wait…collection plate?  You gotta pay for this?  Well, hell…it’s got to be better than some overpriced psychologist, any day of the week.  Hold on a second…’social gathering’, ‘talk with friends’…isn’t this what Facebook is for?  Great!  Add another religion to the list…Facebook!

Now you know my theories on religion.  I’m not against it per say, but I’m definitely not a follower.  This brings me to the whole ‘Merry Christmas’ thing.  Yes, Christmas is a religious holiday.  No matter what anyone says about it, it’s a religious thing.  Almost everyone celebrates it, whether they have the faith or not.  Hell, I used to celebrate it!  It used to be one of my favorite times of the year!  However, in this day and age, its merely just a marketing ploy to get people to buy a bunch of needless shit.  In fact, if it wasn’t a religious holiday prior to being a marketing tool, I would say that it is just as bad as Valentines day.  But I digress.

I think that Christmas time is still a wonderful thing to the human race.  There is a lot of positive feelings this time of year, and going back to ‘helping people out’, it’s one of the last bastions of hope that many people have.  So why do we have a campaign to end Christmas, and turn it into just “Holiday”, or whatever the PC term is?  These are the most useless people in society!  Look, if you’re out buying a Christmas tree, and one of these idiots come up and say “hey, what kind of holiday tree are you getting?”  You have my permission to slap the shit out of them.  As a matter of fact, slap them twice.  Now, I don’t advocate violence.  This is strictly a ‘take care of my brother’ scenario.  They have obviously strayed so far from common sense, that an intervention is definitely in order.  It’s fucking Christmas!  And it’s lost its religious connotations long ago, in civil society.  Saying Christmas doesn’t hurt anyone’s feelings, and if it does…fuck’em!

I don’t celebrate Christmas.  It’s not because I don’t believe in the spirit of it, it’s for personal reasons.  Long ago, I inadvertently lost the ability to share Christmas with my daughter.  It actually took several years for me to come to grips with that.  As a parent, you realize that Christmas is for the children.  Once you’ve celebrated Christmas with your child, you don’t want to celebrate it any other way.  At least that’s my case.  I won’t celebrate Christmas again, unless my daughter is with me.  That’s my choice.  Does that mean that I’m upset that other people celebrate it?  Hell no!  Why would I use my suffering to hinder someones happiness?  That’s just wrong, and I didn’t need a religion to tell me that.  I say Merry Christmas, because it is Christmas.  I say, “that’s a beautiful Christmas tree”, because that’s what it is.  I may not celebrate it, but I still understand the spirit of it.

So here’s the ‘take away’ from all this babble:

  1. Don’t give me your religious spiel.  I just don’t care about it.  If it works for you, then I’m happy for you, but don’t expect me to tag along.
  2. Slap the idiot that tries to get you on the PC version of Christmas.  They need the help.  Actually, slap them twice, then educate them on the true meaning of Christmas.
  3. Do everything possible not to lose your ability to spend time with your children.  Christmas is a special time, and it should be spent with your kids.
  4. Christmas isn’t really about giving.  It’s about spending time with your family and friends.  It could be sitting at a bar watching a game, or even playing mailbox baseball with the fella’s.

I am King Hendo.  Merry Christmas to all of you!!!  Be good to each other, and help someone that needs it.

…Kill Cap & Trade!

(Compiled by American Values President Gary Bauer)

  1. IT’S NOT GETTING HOTTER: Five major international climate centers report that average global temperatures have not risen over the past 11 years.

  2. IT’S BAD SCIENCE: a British judge ruled that teachers in Great Britain’s school system will be required to issue a warning before they show students An Inconvenient Truth, Al Gore’s controversial film on global warming.

  3. IT’S JUST A TAX: energy costs will soar under the House-passed Waxman-Markey bill, and those costs will be passed on to consumers.  Obama Administration Budget Director Peter Orszag has estimated that a 15% decrease in emissions would cause the average American family to pay $1,300 in additional utility costs a year.

  4. IT WILL SPREAD YOUR WEALTH AROUND: The Obama Administration’s goal is to raise $650 billion through the energy tax.  But only $150 billion of that will be devoted to alternative energy production, while $500 billion gets redistributed to people who don’t pay income taxes.

  5. JOBS WILL DISAPPEAR: A Congressional Budget Office report says the legislation would create “significant” job losses from fossil fuel industries as the country shifts to renewable energy.  A Heritage Foundation study estimated that the new law would mean 1.9 million fewer jobs by 2012.

  6. HOME PRICES WILL BE DEPRESSED: Under the new energy regime, most homes put up for sale would b e required to undergo environmental inspections.  New homes would have to be 30% more energy efficient than  the current building code.

  7. THE MIDWEST WILL BE HARDEST HIT: Forty-four House Democrats voted against Waxman-Markey.  That’s because most of them represent Midwestern states.  A new report from the Environmental Protection Agency shows that 10 states, mostly in the Midwest, would be hardest hit.

  8. AMERICA WILL BE LESS COMPETITIVE: China and India are the first and fourth biggest emitters of carbon dioxide emissions, respectively, but they refuse to commit to binding emissions cuts.

  9. IT HAS NEVER WORKED: The European Union has had a cap-and-tax regime since 1997, but 12 of the 15 EU nations that signed on are failing to meet their targets.

  10. HASTE MAKES WASTE: Before the House passed its version of the measure, which is almost 1,500 pages long, and costs about $900 billion, members had less than 16 hours to read the final bill before voting on it.

…about the Pelosi Health Care Bill!

  1. COST: The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) estimates the House health care program will cost $1.5 trillion over the next decade and $2.6 trillion for the decade after 2014.  And as most such estimates are low, don’t be surprised when the price-tag soars.

  2. PUBLIC OPINION: The bill contains a robust public-opinion insurance feature, that is sure to eventually undercut private insurers and is likely to lead to a single-payer government take-over of health care.

  3. TAXES: The House bill includes $572 billion in new taxes, mostly from imposing a 5.4% “surcharge” on families earning over $1 million, and $500,000 for singles.  And since the tax is not indexed for inflation it will immediately start gobbling up more taxpayers.

  4. QUALIFIED PLANS: Everyone will be required to enroll in a “qualified plan.”  The secretary of Health and Human Services will decide what a “qualified plan” covers and how much it will cost.

  5. PENALTIES: If you don’t get health insurance, pay a fine or go to jail.  A tax equal to 2.5% of adjusted gross income will be imposed on people who refuse to buy insurance.  Those who refuse to pay the penalty face time in jail.

  6. COST TO FAMILIES AND INDIVIDUALS: The Congressional Budget Office estimates that an individual earning $44,000 before taxes who purchases his own insurance will have to pay a $5,300 premium and an estimated $2,000 in out-of-pocket expenses, for a total of $7,300 a year, or 17% of his pre-tax income.  A family earning $102,100 a year before taxes will have to pay a $15,000 premium plus an estimated $5,300 out-of-pocket, for a $20,300 total or 20% of its pre-tax income.

  7. BUSINESS MANDATE: The bill imposes a mandate for most business to provide health insurance to their workers or pay an 8% payroll tax.  This provision will likely lead to employers’ dumping their workers into the public option, since the fine is smaller than the premiums.

  8. MEDICARE & MEDICAID: The bill harshly cuts Medicare while expanding Medicaid to include everyone below 150% of the poverty line.  Particularly hard-hit by cuts will be Medicare Advantage, which is used by 20% of seniors.

  9. ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS: The Congressional Budget Office estimates that the number of illegal immigrants covered under the just-passed House bill will increase by 2.5 million from the original House bill, H.R. 3200.

  10. MEDICAL SAVINGS ACCOUNTS: The bill caps at $2,500 the amount an employee can contribute to a health care Medical Savings Account, penalizing people taking advantage of one of the few programs which helps to keep medical costs in check.
